I want to control CO2, temperature and humidity, which controller should I use?
The iGS-220 is the best product to control CO
2, temperature and humidity. However, you have to know that temperature and humidity control are dependant.
Can I control temperature and humidity with my iGS-220?
You have to choose between a temperature control or a humidity control operating mode, or you can also choose a cooling and dehumidify mode. Since both temperature and humidity controls activate output 2 (right double output), equipments plugged in will be activated at the same time when temperature or humidity set point will be reached.

How can I set temperature on my iGS-220?
First, you have to choose the operation mode corresponding to what you want to do :
- Heating, cooling or cooling and dehumidifying at the same time?
- Day only, night only or day and night?
- Priority on CO2 control, priority on temperature control or both controlled independently?
- If priority is on CO2, do you want to add an OFF delay (5 or 10 minutes) to be sure the equipment controlling temperature won't turn ON immediately when the CO2 equipment will turn OFF? (The operating modes for temperature control are shown on pages 9 and 10 of the user guide. iGS-220 user guide is available on the website Technical Support section.)
When the operating mode is chosen, you must enter the day and night set points (temperatures you want during day and night). Steps to follow are explained at the bottom of page 11 of user guide.

I want to plug in a dehumidifyer on my iGS-220, which output do I plug it into?
Deshumidifyer must be plugged in the output 2 (right double output). You have to choose the appropriated operating mode. Different possible operating modes for dehumidifying are explained on pages 7 and 10 of the user guide. iGS-220 user guide is available on the website Technical Support section.

What means « day » and « night » in operating mode description (ex : cooling day only)?
Most of our controllers have a photocell that detects the presence of light. When there?s enough light in the room, controller detects that this is the day, and when there's not enough ligth, it detects that this is the night. So day and night set points will correspond to your light cycles and will be more appropriate to the plants needs.

How can I modify the low temperature limit on my iGS-220?
The low temperature limit will turn off the output 2 (cooling and dehumidifying equipment) whenever the temperature will be too low (5°C or 9°F above the chosen limit). You can use this limit to avoid excessive cooling while dehumidifying. To modify low and high temperature and humidity limits, you must select % RH or Temp °C / °F by pressing Select Sensor. Then, select Operating Mode by pressing Modifiy and press one more time. ?L? means low limit and ?H? means high limit. You can modify these limits by using arrows. You can see detailed steps on pages 15 and 16 of the user guide. iGS-220 user guide is available on the website Technical Support section.

I use my iGS-220 only to add CO2. Which operating mode should I choose for TempºC/ºF and %HR?
If there?s nothing plugged in output 2, an operating mode ending by 5 (priority on output 2) is not suitable. You are better to choose a mode like 4-54 for temperature and humidity. Then, the output 1 will operate independently of the output 2. (Any operating mode ending by 1, 2, 3 or 4 could be chosen)

What means Adu8 on my iGS-220?
Adu8 means that the system has restarted after a long power outage of more than 36 hours. You need to enter the current time since it has been lost due to the long power outage. Also, 24-h log data have been fully erased.

The CO2 generator plugged in my iGS-220 doesn?t turn ON. What do I have to do?
First verify if operating mode and set points are appropriated. Verify also the differential value. To turn ON equipment, the difference between CO
2 level and set point must be higher than differential. Verify temperature and humidity operating mode even if output 2 is not used. The chosen operating mode (if ending by 5) can turn off the output 1. If you don?t want that output 1 (CO
2) was turned off when output 2 (temperature and humidity) is on, you must choose an operating mode ending by 1, 2, 3 or 4 (ex : 4-54).

What means Adu2 on my iGS-061?
Adu2 means that the CO2 sensor needs calibration. There's two different ways to calibrate it : quick calibration or regular calibration. If you know the real CO2 concentration in the room, use regular calibration, otherwise use quick calibration outdoors.
Quick calibration :
- You must bring your iGS-061 outdoors in order to calibrate it using the 400 ppm natural CO2 concentration (the temperature outdoors must be higher than 0 Celsius).
- Press and release knob until Operating Mode indicator light is ON.
- Press and hold down knob for at least 3 whole seconds until the indicator light blinks and the display shows CO2 and CAL in sequence.
- Press and hold down knob until display shows CAL only. Then when releasing knob, you will see CAL and run in sequence.
- Wait while calibration is made (few minutes). Make sure not to breathe near the CO2 sensor while calibrating.
- When the display shows CAL and Done in sequence, calibration has completed successfully. Press and release knob to return to default mode (all indicator lights must be OFF).
Regular calibration :
- Measure the real CO2 concentration in the room by using another CO2 controller or monitor as a reference.
- Press and release knob until Operating Mode indicator light is ON.
- Press and hold down knob for at least 3 whole seconds until the indicator light blinks and the display shows CO2 and CAL in sequence.
- Press and release knob. Display will show CAL and a value in sequence.
- Turn knob to replace the shown value by the real CO2 concentration measured at step 1.

Why is there two outputs 1 (CO2) in the iGS-50 plug in iGS-220?
Two outputs 1 can be useful for CO
2 control, as to plug in more than one equipment or to turn on a fan for a faster CO
2 dispersion. Also, this iGS-50 is used with other models of controller, like iGS-110 for which both outputs 1 could be useful for temperature control.

What means A 0.0 on iGS-220?
When ppm CO
2 light is turned on and you press Modify until Operating Mode light is on, you will see A 0.0 whenever you?ll press one more time on Modify key. This A means Altitude. This is a correction factor for altitude that can be applied to CO
2 reading. The measurement of CO
2 concentration is slightly influenced by the elevation (or altitude) of your growing room with respect to the sea level. The actual concentration tends to decrease by approximately 3 % per 1000-ft increase in altitude, which should not alter significantly the growing of your plants. However, if you want your module to take into account the actual influence of the elevation, you can modify the 0.0 value using arrows. For example, if you are at 3500 feet above sea level, you have to enter A 3.5. Then press Modify until all lights of Modify part are off. If you are operating in altitude and you decide not to change this parameter, your plants will grow in a slightly higher CO
2 concentration than the displayed value, which should normally compensate the natural depletion of CO
2 observed in altitude (due to reduced air density).

I want the fan plugged in my iGS-220 to turn off when CO2 is on, but both operate now at the same time.
If output 2 operating mode (temperature and humidity) is ending by 4 or 5, it is not appropriate. The operating mode chosen should end by 1, 2 or 3 in accordance with wanted delay. If operating mode is well chosen, operation of both equipments at the same time is probably caused by the automatic emergency mode. This mode allows equipment plugged in output 2 to operate independently of output 1 equipment when temperature or humidity goes above the high limit or below the low limit, and this no matter of chosen priority. This emergency mode can be very useful in the case of an awry equipment or an empty CO
2 bottle. It is important to verify these limits and to adjust them at chosen values. If you don?t want to use this emergency mode, you just have to choose a very low low limit (L) and a very high high limit (H) in order to never reach them.

My iGS-220 displays Adu2 in sequence with a value. What does it mean?
Adu2 means that the CO2 sensor needs calibration. If you don't know the real CO2 concentration in the room, you must bring your controller outside (temperature outside must be over 0 Celsius) to calibrate it. Because we know the CO2 concentration of the outside air is around 350 to 450 ppm, we use 400 ppm as a reference. If it's too cold outside, you can use an other monitor or tool as a reference. There is the way to calibrate your controller :
- Press the Select Sensor key until ppm CO2 light turns on.
- Depress the UP arrow followed by the DOWN arrow and repeat 5 times within a 5 seconds period (UP, DOWN, UP, ...). Display will show CAL and CO2 alternately.
- Press Select Sensor to continue to step 4. (To abort calibration, press Modify)
- Display will show the ambient CO2 ppm alternately with CAL. Press UP or DOWN arrows to reach 400 ppm, given your controller is still in a fresh air condition. If you are not outdoors, use the reference value measured by your reference tool. Press Select Sensor to continue to step 5. (or press Modify to abort calibration)
- Display will show CAL and run alternately to indicate calibration is underway. It may take up to 8 minutes before the sensor resumes operation. Make sure not to breathe near the CO2 sensor while calibrating.
- When calibration is complete, display shows CAL and Done alternately. Press any key to exit. The controller will restart.

In which output may I plug my equipment for the CO2 control?
If you have an iGS-100, iGS-200, iGS-210 or iGS-220, you must plug your CO
2 generator or bottle in the double output 1 (left outlets).

I use my iGS-220 to control the CO2 only, and my CO2 equipment doesn?t turn on. Why?
There are some operating modes for the temperature and humidity control that can block the CO
2 output when output 2 is ON, even if there?s nothing plugged in the output 2. If you don?t use the output 2, you can choose the operating mode 4-54 for the temperature and humidity. Then, the output 1 will work independently of the output 2 (all operating modes ending by 1, 2, 3 or 4 can also be chosen when this output is not used).

At which height must I install my controller?
For best results, you must install it at height of plants. Then, the controller will measure the same conditions (temperature, humidity and CO
2) than those around plants. For a maximum of efficacy, it is also important to place the controller where it can detect light and darkness, and not too close of heat, CO
2, humidity or fans.

What means Err1 on my iGS-100?
Display shows Err1 when CO2 level is above 5000 ppm (part per million). This value is very high, then the controller probably needs a calibration. To calibrate it, you must either know the real CO2 concentration in the room you are in, or either bring the controller outside to calibrate it at 400 ppm, the regular CO2 concentration of the outside air. To calibrate the iGS-100, you must follow these steps :
- Press UP and DOWN arrows alternately 5 times wihtin a 5 seconds period (Up, Down, Up, ...).
- When display shows CAL and CO2 alternately, press Setpoint to continue (or Night Setpoint to abort calibration).
- Display shows CAL and the CO2 reading. Press UP or DOWN arrows to adjust this value to the real known concentration or to 400 ppm if you are outside. Then, press Setpoint to continue.
- Display shows CAL and run alternately to indicate calibration is underway (can take 8 minutes). Make sure not to breathe near the CO2 sensor while calibrating.
- When calibration is complete, display shows CAL and Done alternately. Press any key to exit and resume normal operation.
