Air conditionning units compatible with environmental controllers

There are portable air conditioners that are possibly compatible with temperature environmental controllers used in indoor gardening. Some newer models offer an "Auto-restart" feature - unit will restart when power resumes after power failure. Since such an air conditioner unit would be plugged in a 120 Volts ac controlled outlet switching on an off, it is reasonable to assume it would work.
